Frequently asked questions
What should a job offer letter include?
At minimum: job title, reporting line, start date, location, compensation and benefits, any contingencies, an acceptance deadline, and a signature block. Keep contractual terms clear and have legal review the template.
Is an offer letter legally binding?
It can create obligations, which is why wording matters. Many letters state employment is at-will and that the letter is not a fixed-term contract. Always tailor language to your local employment law.
How long should a candidate have to accept?
Three to five business days is common. Give enough time for a genuine decision without leaving the role open indefinitely. State the deadline clearly in the letter.
